PERSEPSI ORANG TUA TERHADAP PENTINGNYA PENDIDIKAN ANAK DI DESA TADUASA KECAMATAN BATUATAS KABUPATEN BUTON SELATAN

Abstract


The problem in this study is how parents perceive the importance of children's education in Taduasa Village, Batu Atas Subdistrict, South Buton Regency. This study aims to determine parents' perceptions of the importance of children's education and supporting factors for children's education in Taduasa Village, Batu Atas Subdistrict, South Buton Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research, which produces descriptive data in the form of written or oral words from people and behaviors that are observed to describe parents' perceptions of the importance of children's education in Taduasa Village, Batu Atas Subdistrict, South Buton Regency. The method used in this study is the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that parental perceptions of children's education are
parents who have a high desire or expectation for formal education for their children or parents have positive aspirations for formal education, with the expectation that parents after children finish their education are able to continue their education higher and get a good or decent
job and can help his parents. Whereas the factors supporting parents' aspirations for children's education are information about education in various media, high motivation or encouragement of families to send their children to school, the high personal interest of children to study and to school, and a good closeness between parents and children parents and children are good, and the inhibiting factor for parents' aspirations for education is the lack of interest or willingness of children to go to school and children are often lazy to learn, limited economy with limited income so parents cannot educate their children to a higher level.
